One!

Today is LAST day EVER of my internship...I cannot begin to express how unbelievable this is to me. I want my shift to be just done. I can't believe it...well what's next? In the immediate future, I'm going with a few friends from my internship to the Hamptons to unwind for a couple of days. Then Marcus and I need to pack up our apartment in a matter of days. By this time next week, we will be in the midst of actually moving. Even though we have movers this time around, I still feel a little overwhelmed because I've only had the time to pack up about 10 boxes. But one day at a time, I guess...I just got more information from a shooting range on the West Side. I think I'm going to take a class there to learn how to shoot. I'm excited. But at the same time I have a tendency to want to do so many things that I end up super busy with all my "personal projects"...but I've been wanting to learn how to shoot for a few years now, and never had the chance to do it...Papa will be so proud of his little girl!

Where Have I Been?

My friend Anthony just asked me over email if I've been blogging recently and it reminded me that I've been neglecting my beloved blog! Why? Because I've been on overnight duty, so it's been hard to function outside of being at work. But what's the good news? I have two more working days, Marcus, Gustaf, and I are moving in a week and a half, we're going to be living within five minutes (walking) of Terry-a, Steve, and Seren, AND I just saw an ad on Showtime that one of my favorite shows, Californication, is going to start back up sometime soon! And the song that was playing during the ad? Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls"....and yes, I love that song. Summer is gonna rock! And one of my big plans, other than working out like a madwoman is to check out the Brooklyn Flea Market.

P.S...It's Loving Day!

Just a reminder...today is Loving Day, which celebrates interracial marriage! Not too long ago, can you believe it was illegal to marry someone of another race? This blog has some interesting links.

Cozumel...Yummy

Marcus and I recently returned from our trip to Cozumel. We were there to attend the wedding of our friends Stacy and Casey. We were both in the wedding and it really went well. Way back in my blog's history, I talked about my trip to Cozumel and the villa me and Stacy saw that would one day be the site of her wedding! Well it came to fruition. I'll have photos to post soon, I hope. Well this trip was a quick one. We arrived Sunday afternoon, rented a car and headed straight for the ocean to frolic. The following day we spent most the day at the beach. That night we walked around the center square and met up with fellow wedding goers. The following day was the wedding, and then finally, this past Wednesday we had to leave. Before we left though, I had the best meal I ate that entire trip...we went to the Panaderia Cozumelena (a bakery) and I ate divorciados, which are fried eggs prepared in two different, delicious sauces. It was orgasmic. I need to somehow recreate that. Speaking of incredible food, we went into the local grocery store and I discovered coconut yogurt, made by the brand Lala. SO delicious. I tried to recreate it at home this morning with some plain yogurt, coconut milk, and coconut flakes, but it didn't cut it. But I think I'll try again with some kefir.

All Before 12 Noon

Marcus and I took the 6:16AM train into the city to make our interview at INS, to once again, prove that our marriage is a real one. I joked that when we walked in the people probably thought I was the one looking to get the Green Card. Anyway, it looks like Marcus will finally get his permanent Green Card. Phew. Well, then I went to get my eyebrows threaded near Penn Station. From there I was supposed to go to Pet Central to pick up Gustaf's California Natural Chicken and Brown Rice cat food down at 23rd. So I trekked over there. But it was 9:30AM, and they opened at 11AM! Augh. So then I backtracked and walked uptown to 36th Street to go to my sample sale spot...and there was a line down the block filled with women dying to get their hands on the Tory Burch stuff inside...well, I figured that even though I don't love Tory Burch, I'd check it out anyway since I had nowhere to be until 11AM. So I took a number (literally) and the workers were standing outside as if this place was a club and there was a guest list to get in. I stood in line for about 45 minutes and finally got in. I didn't like 90% of the stuff, but I did score this embroidered tunic, as seen in the photo above. And I've been searching for one for months. So I'm satisfied. By then I was concerned about getting back DOWNTOWN to the pet store and making it back to Penn Station to catch the next train to Long Island. I walked to the store, picked up the food and had more than enough time to stop at this fast food joint and grab some grub. It was alright enough. I think Marcus would like it because it had a variety of European fast food items like Swedish meatballs in a sandwich, fish and chips, and stuff like that. I definitely got some walking in today!
